Who We Are
Catalyst is a church that loves Jesus and loves each other. We are a gospel-centered biblical community that is eager to reach college students and the surrounding Newport News community.
Gospel-centered
We believe that the gospel is the good news that changes everything for you and this world! The gospel is not just for salvation but for all of life and all of the church.
CONTEMPORARY
Jesus has called us to pursue our neighbors where they are like he does for us. This means that we talk, sing, and dress like those around us.
MISSIONAL
Jesus was on mission for us and sends us to live on mission for those around us. This is not just a one-time event but an everyday lifestyle for you individually and us collectively.
COLLEGE-FOCUSED
We believe that our proximity is purposeful and it clarifies our mission. Jesus has planted us less than a 10 minute walk from 5,000 college students at Christopher Newport University. We believe college students are one of the world’s greatest mission fields and mission forces for the gospel.
